Summer Fun

Some of Brian's family has the tradition of going to an MLB game around Father's Day every year. This year we went down to San Diego for a Padres vs. Diamondbacks game. Friday we went to the beautiful Coronado Beach for a day of sun and sand with the cousins. That night me and all the boys took the trolley and went to the game (Rachel hung back with the rest of the girls at the hotel.) Our highlight was when Brian caught one of the game balls! Saturday we spent the day at Seaworld with the Edwards Family. It was so fun! Our favorite ride by far was the Journey to Atlantis. It was a water ride in a boat, then we took an elevator up to the top of tower, and the boat became a roller coaster, then turned into a water ride at the bottom of the last drop again, it was awesome! Our other favorites were the Sea Otter Show, and the Pets Rule show (even Erick didn't mind the dogs from a distance!) We can't wait to see a game next year! What a blessing that we enjoy our families enough to vacation together!

Lucky Number 7!!!

Yesterday Rachel turned 7 years old! I can't believe how the time flies! In her school class she has a best friend who also happens to be her birthday twin. Ever since the beginning of the school year when they found out they shared a birthday they have been planning this joint party they wanted to have. So her mom and I let them plan away. They ended up deciding on a Hannah Montana water games party! (Her aunt Barbara made an awesome guitar cake, they had a guitar pinata, water balloon fights, squirt guns, and jumped on the trampoline. What fun!) We are so thankful Rachel is a part of our family. She takes such good care of everyone and is so thoughtful and considerate. What a sweetheart!
