The Whole Month of October...

Rachel has been on track break all month! With Halloween approaching quickly I decided to let her plan a party for our friends that are also on track break. She planned the games, food, decorations, and wrote out the invites. Erick was not really into being a party planner this year, only a food taster! One of my good friends gave me a couple of party planning books which we found these cute (and super easy) ideas. We made ghost cookies, (nutty bars dipped in white chocolate with red hot eyes,) witch hats (striped fudge cookies with a Hershey's kiss on top,) and spooky hands with spider rings (clear gloves with popcorn inside.) Rachel's games were hot pumpkin, freeze dance, hide and seek the bats, and then we read a Halloween story. It was a short party in the morning, but the kids all had fun. Maybe next year I will be super brave and make the homemade root beer in a cauldron. Halloween is moving up on my list of favorite holidays. Keeping up with the spirit of Fall we have also been to the pumpkin patch, and trick-or-treating at the rec center. Enjoy the pictures! Can I Just Say...

Grey's Anatomy last night was horrible! I am so embarrassed that I put that show on my favorites list on an earlier post!!! The season finale left me flabbergasted. (Don't I sound smart using that big word?) I tricked myself (okay really I think SATAN tricked me) into thinking that they wouldn't show much on TV, but last night's episode proved otherwise. That show has officially crossed the line and I am no longer watching it! So I am retracting my previous 8 favorite TV shows, I'll have to think of something else with a little more taste. Alright, I am getting off my soapbox now...

A Faith Promoting Experience

You know your 4 year old cares too much about video games when... he is messing around with dad's PSP(on the Sabbath) and suddenly sets it on the table, takes a kneeling position at the closest possible location (the bench in the kitchen,) is quiet for a minute, then mutters an "amen." When I asked Erick what he was doing he innocently and with much faith replied, "Dad's game wasn't working, so I said a prayer to ask Heavenly Father to help it work again! Teaching moment... what would you say? Lucky for me I had a very knowledgeable 6 year old set him straight immediately. "Erick that is not an appropriate thing to pray for, so your prayer won't be answered. " Now had his dad been home to get the game to work, no problem, prayer answered. But I am clueless about how to work video games, except Nintendo Super Mario Brothers, I am awesome at that. I beat that game in like 1988 or something. I am impressed with myself that I even know what a PSP is. (Portable Play Station)

All She Wants for Christmas is Her 2 Front Teeth

At dinnertime tonight one of Rachel's front teeth was just barely hanging on (makes me just want to snatch it right out!) But she freaks out if anyone attempts to get anywhere close to her mouth so we just encouraged her to wiggle it back and forth, until POP! Out it came.

Then while her and Erick were lovingly hugging ( okay really they were fighting,) Erick knocked Rachel's other front tooth out! So now she is able to drink through a straw like nobody's business!
