Kershaw-Ryan Park

Brian got a new tent for Father's Day this year, so we decided to go camping a couple of weeks ago. However, as Brian searched the internet for available camp grounds, there weren't any. He did come across this cool place hidden in a small canyon on our way to the Hafen Ranch (also affectionately known as the Hafen Compound.) Kershaw-Ryan Park has this pool, park, clean bathrooms, nice BBQ area, horseshoes, volleyball net, and hiking. So if you are ever passing through Caliente, NV you should definately check this place out. At $4 a carload, it is worth the stop! (As a side note we did end up using our tent at the compound, err... I mean Ranch.) *Kristen did you notice the bird poop on the bench? Ask Dalin.

The Park

Right across the street from my sister's house is this really beautiful park. People can fish, hike, and bike there. As we walked on the trail, Rachel and Erick were in awe as we heard many strange insect noises, and saw lots of seagulls flying overhead. They tell me the most memorable part of the walk, was the dead fish floating in the water. Go figure!

Syracuse, UT

The kids enjoyed our time in Syracuse. They played with their cousins in the basement from sun up to sun down! I love this picture of Cole and Erick. They are only 2 months apart in age, but about 2 sizes in clothes! Cole is gentle, but giant!

Our New Cousin!

This summer we had the opportunity to visit my sister Christel and her family shortly after she had her FOURTH boy, Cooper. I tried to help out with the other three, while she took care of this sweetie. Born at 36 weeks, only weighing 5 lbs. 6 oz., he is doing great!

6 going on 16

Rachel recently turned 6! She had a cousins party in our backyard. The Hafens started a tradition of celebrating all the birthdays in a month together. 13 separate parties is a bit much, huh? Notice the darling cakes? I have to give props to my sister-in-law Kristen for those. She is very talented! Rachel also got to invite a few friends to Chuck E. Cheese. Our kids like to go there for the games and rides, not the pizza. If anyone has had their pizza you know what I am talking about.

Erick's 4th Birthday

Erick celebrated his birthday with 2 parties! One with his 13 cousins that live in Henderson, and one with his friends. Hot Wheels was his theme, and his handy dad made a ramp to race cars down.

Ten Year Anniversary Cruise

Since I am joining the blogging phenomenon late in the game, the year is more than half over. So I will share some highlights of 2008 for The Hafens. To celebrate making it through 10 years of being married to Brian, he rewarded me with a cruise to the Western Carribean. We went with his sister Kristen, and her husband Chris. Our stops included Cozumel, Mexico, Belize, Roatan, Honduras, and Freeport, Bahamas.

Our Pond

This is our home aka "The Pond". After living in our previous home for eight years we decided to make a life changing move to a home about a half mile away. The kids were really upset. They had to be withdrawn from the schools they were never enrolled in, Brian's commute to work became one minute longer and Natalie was forced to live in the Stake she grew up in. But, miraculously, the family was able to pull together and help each other make it through the ordeal. So two years and three front yard trees later, here we are! We hope you will find our site interesting and sometimes entertaining. If you don't, you are welcome to visit any of our relatives blogs. Happy blog stalking!
