Hafen Happenings

We had a busy week last week with everything winding down for the summer! Fay Galloway had their awards assembly on Thursday. We recieved a letter in the mail saying Rachel was receiving a special award, so to keep it a secret. During the assembly the Principal read this at the pulpit: "Mrs. Tomaino is so proud to call this young lady a Fay Galloway Panther. She sets a good example for all students at school, and is always willing to lend a helping hand to those who need it. One of her best qualities in the classroom is her patience. The way she works with others and shares ideas is extraordinary! Mrs Tomaino is so proud of her accomplishments this year in first grade." And then they called Rachel up to give her this award. She also earned straight A's all year(I know I'm bragging, but I'm a proud parent what can I say?

Erick finished up his karate class and earned the last of his 8 stripes. He had a blast, and learned a thing or two in the process. One of his favorite parts of the class was going with his cousin, Kyle. (They are only 2 days apart, so they get to do a lot together.)

And last but not least, Hafen #8(one more to go), Jordon got married to a super nice girl from Oregon, Kortni Smith.

Funny story... during the reception festivites Erick went out to the floor when they called all the single guys out for the garter belt toss. Erick dove on the ground to get it, and did! When we asked him what that was he said, "a baby headband." (That's okay with us if he wants to go on thinking that.) He even tried to put it on his newest baby girl cousin Lily. (Wish we would of got a picture of that one.)

Here are some cute pictures of all the nieces and nephews in their cute coordinating outfits sewn by our personal seamtress Kristen and my mom did Rachel's, thanks ladies!

Love the coordinating dresses! They look beautiful! That is so funny about Erick catching the garter. I still don't really know what they are...or at least the purpose(?)... a baby head band makes more sense anyway. That is so great about Rachel Can I come take some parenting classes!
